ITSMF
The itSMF (IT Service Management Forum) is a membership-owned non-profit organisation for people interested in IT Service Management. One of its main focuses is the IT Information Library (ITIL) a set of guidelines defining good practices in the area of IT Service Management.
Since it was first founded in the UK in 1991, the itSMF has become Europe's main independent organisation focusing on IT Service Management with national chapters in most European countries. Since 1996, and with bodies in the USA, Canada, Australia and South Africa, itSMF International is being considered the world's premier IT Service Management organisation.

itSMF Belgium is the Belgian chapter of this organisation and was founded in 1998. It is open to all organisations and individuals with a particular interest in IT Service Management. Our aims and objectives are:
- Promote the exchange of information, ideas and experience in order to assist IT organisations in providing a streamlined management of IT service delivery
- To assist our members in finding an obtaining the correct guidelines and tools, aimed at IT Service Management
- To provide a forum for service providers, suppliers and users to discuss different issues related to IT Service Management
- Provide assistance in the translation of appropriate material in Dutch and French

ITSMF Canada
The Information Technology Service Management Forum (Canada), or itSMF Canada, is a non profit organization affiliated with the itSMF International. It has been established as a forum for Information Technology professionals to explore all means available to improve the quality of IT services to their respective customers. Although itSMF Canada takes strategic direction from itSMF International, it operates within the Canadian IT industry and its objectives are relevant to that context.
To provide our membership with a forum that will enable them to exchange views, share experiences and participate in the continuous development of best practices and standards, as well as providing a range of services with significant value to our members.
The mission and objectives of itSMF Canada will be achieved through the following activities:
- Keeping members informed about local and international events and trends in ITSM.
- Organizing regular events to build knowledge and awareness about ITSM and to facilitate contact between ITSM professionals.
- Setting the events agenda and to ensure that they are complementary rather than competitive with other similar IT industry events.
- Reviewing any ITSM events worldwide and advertising them in Canada.
- Maintaining a membership list to facilitate contact between members.
- Maintaining a catalog of ITSM products, training and services available in Canada.
- Developing and maintaining a set of standards for the application of ITSM as a profession in the Canadian IT industry.

ITSMF United States
Due to the success and growing acceptance of the International itSMF throughout the world, which included the subsequent establishment of an itSMF in the UK, Netherlands and South Africa, a charter has been granted to create an IT Service Management Forum for the Americas (Canada and United States).
Members of the itSMF will have immediate access to all of the experience, material, documentation and programs generated by the International itSMF while being able to take part in the creation and development of an itSMF focused on service management business issues, needs and solutions specific to the United States and Canada
